      Diwakar is a renowned biotechnologist and pharmacist. He has trained over 600 pharmacists to emerge as competent professionals during his long academic career.

Prof. Divakar’s area of interest and expertise are in Enzymology, Antibiotic research, Bioinformatics, Process biotechnology, Bioengineering, Nanotechnology, Computer Drug design and TQM in pharmacy education.

He has to his credit research projects in investigations on production of alkaline protease by a newly isolated thermoactinomycetes thalpophilus, bioconversion of steroids, among many others.

Founded in the year 1992, Acharya & BM Reddy College of Pharmacy is today one of the forefront Pharmacy education institutions in the State. The College is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of health Sciences (RGUHS) and is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). Its Diploma in Pharmacy programme is approved by the Government of Karnataka, Board of Examinations, Dept. of Drug Control.

ABMRCP’s penchant for quality in all its endeavors has seen it accredited by National Board of Accreditation in the year 2006 and it is in the process of getting ISO 9001:2000 certification, forge academic collaborations with leading Industry funded research projects. Its forays are to expand its academics through short term training programmes in such fields as Colloquium in Biotechnology, Nanotechnology, Pharmaceutical Technology and bring in TQM in all its technical and pharmaceutical activities.

Industry interface - a prelude to placement
Acharya & BM Reddy College of Pharmacy lays strong emphasis on getting its students rewardingly placed in challenging national and international careers. Its initiatives in interfacing with leading pharma industries have seen the students visiting them and undertaking projects. ‘Data Curation of Matrix Metalloprotease’ a project for Siri Technologies, Bangalore is an example. Also students have been enabled to fruitfully interact with professionals at Eli-Lily India and Cadila Zydus, Dr. Reddy’s Labs, Sarabhai Chemicals, Alchem Labs, Cipla Ltd., Sun Pharma etc. during their visits to college.

ABMRCP Research Initiatives Industry Collaboration
ABMRCP’s initiatives towards enriching its spectrum of pharmacy domain is seeing it moving towards associating itself with Research Centres and Drug Testing Laboratories who are equipped with cutting-edge technologies such as LC-MS, GC-MS, NMR-Spectrophotometer, FTIR, HPLC, HPTLC, Auto Analyser, Automated Sample Processor, Scanning Electron Microscope, PCR / PC-TR, Fluorescent Microscopes, Fermentors, Pilot Scale Tablet Manufacturing Unit, etc.

Project Association

ABMRCP’s initiatives into establishing a full-fledged Research Centre is in the process of setting about with institutions such as NIH, DBT, DST, AICTE, UGC, ICMR, PCI, RGUHS and leading Pharmaceutical and Biotech corporations.
