| Established in the year 2005, Acharya Institute of Graduate Studies is the youngest of the institutions of Acharya. It offers a range of Bachelor Degree Programmes and one Post Graduate Programme. The Institute is affiliated to Bangalore University (BU), the programmes are recognised by the Government of Karnataka. In the brief period that the Institute has been around, it has made considerable dent in the academics of the University and has some of the finest industry professionals as its faculty to deliver the professional content of its various programmes. The Institute functions from a state-of-the-art modern infrastructure in the Acharya Campus, has all the requisite audio-video teaching aids in place and also the technical equipment to teach such hi-tech programmes as Mass Communication and even Fashion and Apparel Design. Combining intelligently class-room and practical training, the teachers ensure that the students fare well theoretically and also meet the practical needs of the industry and corporates. A number of curricular and extra curricular activities managed by its various Students’ Clubs ensure that there is a wholesome growth of the students. Co-curricular Activities As part of learning, the Acharya Institute of Graduate Studies encourages its Communications and Journalism stream students to get into activities that give them a foot-hold in the field of writing, communicating, printing and publishing. The Campus News Letter - Acharya Samachar is completely conceived, executed and published by its students. This exposes the students to: • Creative Writing • Informative Articles • Reviews on Movies, Books and Music • Students Editorials • Cartooning, Humor Bits • Campus Beat (Reports on campus activities) • Travelogues English Language Lab Students are specially trained in the nuances of English language, recognising its significance in the emerging world order. They are trained in : • Elementary and Advanced English • Accent Training • Business Communicationswhich give them that extra skills to compete in the career arena. Study Tours (Industry Visits) As part of learning Journalism and Mass Communication, the Students of AIGS have involved in study tours which have covered : • AIR - All India Radio • Deccan Herald Printing Press • Doordarshan • Vidhana Soudha • High-Court Guest Lectures Regular Guest Lectures by eminent speakers have been arranged in order that the students get aware of the contemporary developments in their field of interest.
