Founded in the year 2000, today Acharya Institute of Technology (AIT) imparts technology education in 7 streams and offers Post Graduate Degrees in Business Administration and Computer Application. It also offers a Doctoral Study Programme in Mathematics leading to Ph.D.

AIT is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) and is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and in the process of accreditation under NBA and NAAC for all programmes.
AIT’s infrastructure is one of the finest in the VTU and in many a sphere, exceeds the prescription of the University and AICTE. Its campus is completely WiFi and all its class rooms have the best of Audio/Video Equipment.
AIT’s Workshops and Laboratories have the latest equipment and trained Assistants who help the students learn through hands-on experience.
The faculty of AIT consist some of the finest in the academia. Many of them are research scholars with Doctoral accomplishments and form part of the University think tanks as represented in various Committees.
The students of AIT are encouraged to attend / present papers in seminars, conferences, workshops etc. through ISTE students chapter and also participate in co-curricular and extra curricular activities through departmental forums.

• An avid research scholar, he has to his credit 65 research papers published / presented in national and international journals / conferences. His research interests are in Alternate Fuels for Internal Combustion Engines and Non Conventional Energy Resources.He has authored many books among which ‘Thermodynamics’ is referred as Text book by VTU and Kuvempu University.
