Manufacturing Engineering is a multi-disciplinary activity comprising mechanical properties and metallurgical characteristics of materials, process analysis, tribology, machine tools, other production equipments and processes. Manufacturing Engineering is a systematic process of converting raw materials into semi finished or finished goods.

Manufacturing is considered as a backbone of any country, as a country's level of manufacturing activity is directly related to its
economy. This programme encompasses many processes that enable an engineer to optimize the resources available in order to produce a
quality product at the most economical cost and meet the requirements of users. Faculty members are involved in research in the field
of CAD/CAM/CIM/ROBOTICS, rapid prototyping, composite materials.
Job opportunities are plenty in the manufacturing sector in India and abroad. By undergoing this program at the under graduate level,
the students will become highly knowledgeable professional engineers who are able to meet the demands of the industries and global
competition.
Eligibility : Pass in 10+2 / Higher Secondary (HS) / Pre University (PUC) / 'A' Level (with 12 years of schooling) or its equivalent with English as one of the languages. Shall have secured a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate in Physics, Mathematics and any one of the following : Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Electronics, Information Science. AIT admits students as per prevailing rules and regulations of VTU.
