Based on this reality MCA programme consists of core courses and allied courses, which provides an in-depth knowledge that enables students to translate their acquired knowledge into working knowledge. It is blazing a new trial by educating young people for a career in computers. The MCA programme was started in the year 2002 with a sanctioned enrollment of 60 students and subsequently it was increased to 240 from the academic year 2012-13. The program is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi and approved by AICTE, New Delhi. The department focuses on contemporary and cutting-edge computer applications, providing participants with the broad range of competencies central to the successful delivery of integrated solutions, which can be found amongst the best. This commitment has made the department to have pride in having 11 university ranks. IBM software centre of excellence and student forum namely “e-disha” was established by the department and it also has a VTU recognized research centre started in the year 2012.

The programme offers the opportunity to engage with internationally renowned and world class faculty who are dedicated to pioneering ways of understanding and dealing with new challenges. Currently, 11 faculty members are pursuing their Ph.D. under VTU, MCA-RC and various other reputed universities and most of the faculty members have carried out research work in different domains such as Data Mining, Cloud Computing, Image processing and Network Security etc.

Eligibility : Candidate with any Bachelor Degree in any discipline from any recognized University with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of all subjects, including languages, if any. Admission is based on MAT / KMAT / PGCET / CMAT Scores. Good track record in Co-Curricular and Extra-Curricular activities shall be an added advantage.
