Academic Focus
Electronics and Communication has become a part and parcel of present industry. Development in electronics each day has uplifted the lifestyle of present generation and continues to do so in the coming years. The programme strives to build a new generation of students who can embed in them the spark of innovating new developments everyday. Programmes developed in this step include Embedded Technology, VLSI Digital Communication, Digital Signal Processing, Operating System, Wireless Communication and Advanced Programming Languages.

These laboratories are well equipped with the state of the art softwares like Cadence software, Xilinx Software, DSP Kits, VHDL Kits, KIEL Software, Matlab 6.5 and Thin Clients with V240 Servers etc.
Curricular Activities
The Department has an active student forum called ‘Spectra’ that conducts seminars, Aptitude tests, quizzes, personality development programmes group discussions, Innovations Idea Hunts for the benefit of the students.
Seminars, Workshops & Conventions
• Conducted a National level workshop on Advanced VLSI Technology organized involving top notch dignitaries from
reputed industries and institutions.
• The department has conducted a State Level AICTE sponsored Staff Development Programme on “VLSI System Design for DSP Applications” organized for Faculty from various colleges in and around Karnataka.
• State level paper presentation “Technocracy” for the benefit of the students.
• As part of SPECTRA activities, students presented papers at intra and inter college level symposiums.
• Students projects ranked top 10 under Cadence Design contest – 2006
• Project on Smart phones was presented under Motorola Scholar programmes – 2007
