Faculty & Academic Resources
Acharya Pre University College has a team of young and eminent faculty who are committed students’ excellence. On the academic front they are fully supported to cope up with the learning processes with care. Mentoring is an important aspect of the student-teacher relationship at Acharya. Constant monitoring of progress of the students’ studies is done. Individual attention is given where required. Special skills of students are encouraged. Overall personality development of the students is considered.
The students are assisted to get into self-driven study methods. They are helped to prepare projects and presentations. They are encouraged to do a lot of experiments in the laboratories so that their experience improves and the foundations get strong.
Library Facilities
Acharya campus is a storehouse of reference books. The central campus library apart, each of the nine institutions of their own libraries catering to specific course subjects. The Acharya Pre University College Library has a wide range of books and journals covering every subject of the courses offered. Comfortable seating and calm atmosphere in the library enthuses every student to immerse himself in knowledge resourcing here.
The college has dedicated and well equipped laboratories for experiments and experiential learning in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer Science. State-of-the-art equipment, trained assistants and adequate consumables ensure that the students’ time is effectively spent in these laboratories.
Learning at the laboratories at Acharya Pre University College is made exciting. The Optics Lab helps students split white light into its seven colours and the Electrical Network Model explains the nuances of distribution of electricity across a city. Students get to analyse Sound and Electrical Waves, discover different radicals present in a Chemical Compound. The Biology Lab takes the students into the physiology of animals and insects. In the Botany Lab they discover the importance of plants for life on earth.
Extra Curricular Activities
The college believes in a holistic development of the student - both academic and extra curricular. The students’ innate talents and capabilities are identified early and every effort is made to nourish them to excellence.
In this direction the faculty put in all their resources together to bring to forefront students’ sporting, cultural, literary, theatrical, music, art and other talents. The Acharya PU Students will be part of a 5000 strong multinational student community in a single campus of over 120 acres. This gives immense opportunities of show casing their talents in a number of campus events and competitions.
Academic eminence apart, he is a well known writer in Kannada and English. Over a hundred of his articles have been published in newspapers on such varied subjects as Science, Literature and Humanities. A theatre enthusiast, he has directed five dramas, which have been staged in various theatres in the State.
An active environmentalist, he has participated in three National Level Conferences for Young Environmentalists held in Diu, Dehradoon and Chickmagalur. His organizing of Nature Clubs and initiatives leading to environmental awareness among students in the college has been very well received.
