Founded in the year 2003, Smt. Nagarathnamma College of Nursing offers the Post Graduate and Graduate Programmes in Nursing. The College is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), approved by Karnataka Nursing Council (KNC) and Indian Nursing Council (INC) and is recognised by the Government of Karnataka.

The ambience of the Acharya Nursing Institutions and the faculty fully complement this approach and this has seen unparalleled academic and career success for its students.

Competitions, Shows, Events, Celebrations, etc. provide opportunities for students to present their singing, dancing, acting, essay writing, elocution and other talents which come for recognition at College level and even Inter-Collegiate levels.

Field Experience: The students of Smt. Nagarathnamma College of Nursing are regularly involved in field and community activities including three villages which Acharya has adopted for its development, wherein they practice basic nursing functions and get hands-on experience in fine-tuning their skills at Health care units of varying scales.

Prof. M.V.Yashodamma, RNRM., B.A., M.Sc Nursing, PGD in Family Welfare & Child Development, is the Principal of Acharya’s NR College of Nursing has over three decades of professional and teaching experience.

A life member of TNAI and ISHA, she is also the Secretary of TNAI Karnataka Branch and its Chairperson of Nursing Education and Research Committee. A member of Local Inspection Committee of RGUHS, her research projects on Laparoscopic sterilisation service and Marital Life of Women Psychiatric patients and the psychiatric nursing perspectives for NIMHANS have earned her a coveted place in the Nursing academic community. She has presented a number of papers in workshops conducted by GDGHS, New Delhi. Her interest in Prevention of AIDS has seen her train nurses in this area under the aegis of Karnataka State AIDS Prevention Society.

Dr. Bharti M.

Dr. Bharti. M, holds a Ph.D. Nursing from Bangalore University (2000), Master of Nursing with Medical Surgical Nursing specialty (1993) & Baccalaureate of Nursing [Hons.] 1986 from Delhi University. She is the recognized Ph.D.Guide in National Consortium for Ph.D. studies in Nursing (an initiative of Indian Nursing council Supported by WHO & collaborated with RGUHS).

She has two decades of teaching experience and has guided several P.G.Research Projects and Ph.D. Scholars. She is known for her exemplary skills in research, and has published & presented research papers in national and International journals / conferences. She has successfully conducted many conferences and workshops on Nursing Education, Evidence Based Nursing Practice, Nursing Research Methodology, Nursing Process etc.

She has been awarded by RGUHS, Bangalore for her contributions to furthering the objectives of NSS activities in 2010 & has also received award for her contributions in the field of nursing education in the state of Karnataka by Govt. College of Nursing the during Golden Jubilee Year of Karnataka State. She is known for her effective and efficient student centric professional education, with the aim of preparing competent nursing professionals. She has contributed enormously for public health awareness movement in the city of Mysore.
