Anaesthesia technician provides support to the anaesthesiologist and the nurse anaesthetist. They assist with the administration and monitoring of anaesthesia. Anaesthesia technicians have a unique qualification and hence they are trained in detail about anaesthesia technology, medicines related to anaesthesia, human anatomy and physiology, applied pathology, microbiology etc.
Anaesthesia is required for surgery and pain relief, these two fractions is always on demand in hospitals with surgical units. Anaesthetic technicians are mainly employed by anaesthesia departments, operation theatres, emergency departments, intensive care units and out-patient surgery clinics.
