About the Program

The Acharya Faculty Premier League (AFPL) – Season 2 is a flagship inter-college sports tournament exclusively designed for faculty and staff members across Engineering Colleges, Universities, and Graduate Colleges under Acharya.

AFPL aims to promote physical fitness, teamwork, and healthy competition, while fostering strong interdepartmental bonding beyond the classroom. The league brings together teaching and non-teaching staff on a common platform to celebrate sportsmanship, collaboration, and campus camaraderie.

General Instructions

  • Participation is restricted to employees of Engineering Colleges, Universities, and Graduate Colleges, including teaching and non-teaching staff only.
  • Non-teaching staff must have completed a minimum of 3 months of service as of 1st February 2026.
  • Any discrepancy in player eligibility will result in the disqualification of the entire team.
  • Umpires, Refire and organizers decisions are final, and teams are expected to uphold the spirit of sportsmanship.
  • Teams must confirm registration by submitting:
  • Scanned copy of the team list, duly signed by the Principal, and Payment confirmation screenshot to the official Email ID: .
  • Submission of ID proof (Aadhaar Card / College ID / Bonafide List – hard copy) before the match is compulsory.
  • Players must wear proper sports attire, including sports shoes and track pants.
  • Astroturf spike shoes are strictly not allowed.
  • Teams must report at least 1 hour prior to their scheduled match time.
  • Matches may be conducted in morning and evening sessions, and select matches may be played under floodlights.
  • Research scholars are not allowed to participate.

Sports Events

  • The tournament will be conducted in a knockout format.
  • A team squad may consist of up to 15 members, with a maximum of 5 non-teaching staff.
  • Matches will be played for 10 overs per innings, with the first 3 overs designated . as Power Play.
  • Matches will be played using Vicky tennis cricket balls (yellow/green).
  • The organizing committee will provide the match balls.
  • A bowler is permitted to bowl a maximum of 2 overs per match.
  • During the Power Play, only 2 fielders are allowed outside the 30-yard circle; for the . remaining overs, only 5 fielders are permitted outside the circle.
  • KSCA fielding restrictions and playing conditions will be followed wherever applicable.
  • In the event of a draw, a Super Over will be played to determine the winner.
  • Each match will feature a “Man of the Match” award.

  • Team consists of a maximum of 10 Players
  • Only 8 players are allowed to play in a match
  • All matches will be in knockout format
  • 6 over matches. In case if match is tied super over will be played
  • A bowler may bowl a maximum of 2 overs only
  • Only throw is allowed for the bowler
  • Each team should have their own bats
  • Bowlers should not move from the place of throw during bowling
  • The tournament will be played using yellow Vicky
  • The player list submitted is the final, no changes allowed
  • A player who has played in one team is not allowed to play in another team
  • If the same player is found in another team, that team will be disqualified
  • Umpire decisions will be final and irrevocable
  • Teams should wear Uniforms (Jersey)

  • Each team shall consist of a maximum of 5 men and 5 women players.
  • Teams should wear Uniforms (Jersey).
  • Only Captain of the team should talk to referee during the match
  • Team which shows indiscipline behavior in the tournament will be disqualified from . tournament.
  • Matches will be played in a 7-a-side format.
  • Out of the 7 players on the court, 4 men & 3 women (faculty/staff) are allowed to play at a time.
  • Matches will be conducted on a best-of-three sets basis, with 15 points per set.

  • Teaching staff and Physical Education Department (PED) faculty only.
  • College ID card is mandatory for all participants.
  • Each team must consist of 5 players and 3 substitute players.
  • Match duration will be 10 + 5 + 10 minutes.
  • Rolling substitutions are permitted during the match.
  • Wearing the official jersey and appropriate sports shoes is compulsory for all players.
