About the Program
Basic Life Support (BLS) is an essential lifesaving skill for Allied Health Sciences professionals, enabling them to provide immediate and effective care during medical emergencies. This hands-on training program equips students with practical skills in CPR, AED operation, and basic airway management while enhancing clinical confidence and teamwork. As frontline healthcare providers, Allied Health professionals play a vital role in the early recognition and management of emergencies, making BLS competency crucial for improving patient outcomes and ensuring patient safety. The program also reinforces professional responsibility and preparedness in both clinical and pre-hospital care settings.
Objectives of the Program
- Develop Basic Emergency Response Skills Students will acquire fundamental knowledge and practical skills required to identify and respond effectively to medical emergencies using Basic Life Support (BLS) protocols.
- Enhance Clinical Confidence and Team Coordination Students will improve their ability to work efficiently as part of a healthcare team during emergency situations through simulation-based hands-on training.
- Promote Patient Safety and Professional Preparedness Students will understand the importance of timely intervention, patient safety, and ethical responsibility in emergency and pre-hospital care setting
Expected Outcomes of the Program
- Perform High-Quality CPR Techniques Students will be able to demonstrate adult CPR procedures correctly according to standard BLS guidelines.
- Operate AED and Basic Airway Management Tools Students will gain practical competency in the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) and basic airway management during emergency care.
- Respond Effectively in Simulated Emergency Scenarios Students will be able to assess emergency situations promptly and provide appropriate first-response measures with confidence and coordination.
