About the Program

The Expert Talk on Safety and Sustainability in Process Industries emphasizes safe practices, risk management, and sustainable approaches to industrial operations. Participants will gain insights into building safer, greener, and more efficient industries through innovation and responsible practices.

Objectives of the Program

  • To create awareness about safety protocols and risk management practices in process industries such as pharmaceuticals, chemicals, petrochemicals, and biotechnology.
  • To highlight the importance of sustainable practices in minimizing environmental impact and ensuring long-term viability of industrial operations.
  • To expose students to real-world challenges and regulatory frameworks related to process safety (OSHA, HAZOP, MSDS, etc.) and environmental sustainability (ESG, green chemistry, zero-liquid discharge, etc.).
  • To introduce modern tools and methodologies used in safety audits, hazard analysis, life cycle assessment (LCA), and environmental impact assessments (EIA).
  • To encourage responsible engineering practices among future professionals by integrating safety and sustainability principles into design, operation, and maintenance of process plants.
