Science, Technology and Innovation for Sustainable Development
About the Program
This guest talk will highlight the vital role of Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) in achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It will show how engineering and innovation can address global challenges like climate change, poverty, and resource scarcity, encouraging students to see themselves as key contributors to building a sustainable future.
Objectives of the Program
- Inspire first-year BE students by linking engineering disciplines to global sustainability challenges.
- Introduce emerging technologies driving sustainable innovation (e.g., AI, renewables, circular economy).
- Encourage an entrepreneurial mindset to view sustainability issues as opportunities for innovation and growth.
Expected Outcomes of the Program
- Students will understand the impact of engineering on global sustainability and societal well-being.
- The audience will recognize the urgency of sustainability challenges and the role of innovation in solving them.
- Students will be inspired to apply sustainable and innovative thinking in academics and future careers.
