About the Program

The Value Added Program on QGIS Software is designed to equip students with practical skills in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) using the open-source QGIS platform. The program focuses on spatial data analysis, mapping, and visualization techniques essential for urban planning, environmental studies, and infrastructure development. It provides hands-on training to enhance technical proficiency and promote data-driven decision-making in geospatial applications.

Objectives of the Program

  • To introduce students to the fundamental concepts and applications of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in civil engineering.
  • To provide hands-on experience in using GIS software for spatial data collection, analysis, and visualization.
  • To develop skills in Map creation and Georeferencing.

Expected Outcomes of the Program

  • Students will understand the fundamental principles and practical applications of GIS in civil engineering.
  • Students will be able to operate GIS software efficiently for spatial data analysis and visualization.
  • Students will gain the ability to create, edit, and manage digital maps and geospatial data.
