About the Program

The Wheelchair Service Training of Trainers (WSTP ToT) – Basic Level is a specialized training program designed to develop competent trainers in wheelchair service provision based on the World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines. The program enhances participants' knowledge and practical skills in wheelchair assessment, prescription, fitting, user training, maintenance, and follow-up services. It also strengthens facilitation, communication, and adult-learning techniques, enabling participants to effectively deliver high-quality wheelchair service training programs and promote independent mobility and inclusion for wheelchair users.

Objectives of the Program

  • To provide participants with knowledge of the WHO Wheelchair Service Provision process and best practices.
  • To develop competency in wheelchair user assessment, measurement, and prescription.
  • To enhance understanding of biomechanics, posture, and pressure injury prevention in wheelchair users.
  • To build practical skills in wheelchair fitting, adjustment, customization, and user training.
  • To promote quality wheelchair services through maintenance, repairs, and effective follow-up care.

  • Freshers' Day fosters strong senior-junior bonds, enhances teamwork, and promotes a sense of belonging.
  • Apply the WHO Wheelchair Service Provision Steps in clinical and community settings.
  • Conduct comprehensive wheelchair user assessments and prescribe appropriate wheelchairs.
  • Implement proper seating, positioning, and pressure sore prevention strategies.
  • Fit, adjust, and train wheelchair users to improve safety, comfort, mobility, and independence.
  • Deliver ongoing wheelchair maintenance, basic repairs, and follow-up services to ensure long-term user satisfaction and functionality
