We are pleased to inform you that as part of our ANRVSA’s Alumni Networking Event, one of our esteemed alumnus Mr. Panduranga Gautam (Batch 2019) is taking the initiative to organise a book reading session on ‘Architectural Voices of India”
"Architectural Voices of India: A Blend of Contemporary and Traditional Ethos" is a notable book by Apurva Bose Dutta, an award-winning architectural journalist from India. The book brings together the voices and insights of 17 iconic Indian architects, spanning multiple generations, and provides a platform for in-depth dialogues about their design philosophies, personal journeys, and views on the evolution of architecture in India.. The architects featured include renowned names like Balkrishna V. Doshi, Raj Rewal, Sanjay Puri, Brinda Somaya, Hafeez Contractor, and Christopher Benninger, among others.
Objectives of the Program
- To appreciate our alumni for bringing learning opportunities to students and to strengthen their bond with the institute.
- To introduce students to the personal and professional beginnings of master architects and their journey into the field of architecture.
- To explore the diverse meanings and philosophies of architecture as described by established Indian architects, fostering deeper understanding of the profession.
- To stimulate students’ curiosity and motivation by connecting architectural practice to real-life experiences and societal impact through storytelling
Expected Outcomes of the Program
- Strengthened alumni-student engagement and professional networking.
- Students will gain insight into the varied career paths and challenges faced by renowned architects, helping them envision their own potential journeys.
- Students will develop an appreciation for architecture beyond design, understanding its cultural, social, and personal significance.
