About the Program

The Deeksharambh (Student Induction Programme) is designed to facilitate a smooth transition of newly admitted students into the nursing profession and the academic environment

Objectives of the Program

  • Familiarize students with the vision, mission, values, policies, and academic culture of the institution. And introduce the philosophy, ethics, and professional responsibilities of the nursing profession.
  • Orient students to the curriculum, examination system, clinical training, and competency-based education as per the regulatory guidelines.
  • Develop a sense of belonging, confidence, and positive attitude towards college life.
  • Promote professional identity, discipline, punctuality, and accountability among students.
  • Enhance communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills essential for nursing practice.
  • Create awareness regarding student support services, mentoring, counselling, anti-ragging regulations, grievance redressal mechanisms, and campus safety. And Encourage healthy lifestyle practices, stress management, emotional well-being, and resilience.
  • Foster values of compassion, empathy, cultural sensitivity, and patient-centred care.
  • Introduce students to digital learning platforms, library resources, simulation laboratories, research opportunities, and evidence-based nursing practice.
  • Encourage participation in co-curricular, extracurricular, extension, and community engagement activities.

Expected Outcomes of the Program

  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of the institution's rules, regulations, academic policies, and code of conduct.
  • Explain the roles, responsibilities, and ethical standards expected of a professional nurse.
  • Exhibit effective communication skills, professional etiquette, and respectful interpersonal relationships.
  • Demonstrate awareness of anti-ragging policies, gender sensitivity, cyber safety, and legal aspects relevant to student life.
  • Apply principles of personal health, stress management, mental well-being, and work-life balance.
  • Display professionalism, empathy, compassion, integrity, and accountability in academic and clinical settings.
  • Build confidence to begin their nursing education with motivation, resilience, and commitment to quality patient care.
  • Establish a strong foundation for achieving academic excellence, clinical competence, research orientation, and holistic professional development throughout the nursing programme.

Target Audience: Students of all B.Sc. Nursing and GNM Freshers.
