About the Program

Advanced hemodynamic monitoring is an essential component of modern nursing practice, enabling early recognition of physiological deterioration and timely intervention. Although traditionally associated with critical care settings, floor nurses increasingly encounter patients requiring close hemodynamic assessment due to advances in medical and surgical care. This educational program is designed to strengthen nurses' knowledge and skills in interpreting hemodynamic parameters, identifying signs of instability, and promoting evidence-based patient management.

Objectives of the Program

  • Define hemodynamic monitoring and explain its significance in patient care.
  • Describe the basic cardiovascular physiology related to hemodynamic monitoring.
  • Identify indications and types of hemodynamic monitoring used in hospitalized patients.
  • Interpret essential hemodynamic parameters such as heart rate, blood pressure, central venous pressure (CVP), mean arterial pressure (MAP), cardiac output (CO), cardiac index (CI), and oxygen saturation.
  • Recognize early signs of hemodynamic instability and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.

  • Accurately interpret commonly used hemodynamic parameters.
  • Detect early clinical deterioration using hemodynamic assessment.
