About Program
Smt. Nagarathnamma College of Nursing’s Faculty Development Programme on Faculty as Mentors focuses on strengthening mentoring skills to support student success, well-being, and professional identity. The programme will cover academic and career mentoring, empathetic communication, active listening, resilience, emotional well-being, professional confidence, and effective faculty-student relationships, helping faculty identify student needs and provide appropriate guidance and support.
Objectives of the Program
- To enhance faculty members’ knowledge and skills in effective academic and career mentoring to support students’ academic success and professional development.
- To strengthen faculty–student relationships through empathetic communication, active listening, trust-building, and supportive mentoring practices.
- To equip faculty members with strategies to promote student resilience, emotional well-being, self-confidence, and professional identity.
- To develop faculty competence in identifying at-risk students at an early stage and implementing appropriate mentoring, intervention, referral, and follow-up strategies.
