Global Handwashing Day is an annual global advocacy day dedicated to increasing awareness and understanding about the importance of hand hygiene in preventing diseases and saving lives. This year’s program, “Clean Hands, Healthy Future” – HASTHA (Helping Hands)-2025, emphasizes empowering school children to adopt proper handwashing practices as a lifelong healthy habit. The program at Government School, Keragundahalli, will include interactive health talks, demonstrations of proper handwashing techniques, role plays, songs, games, poster competitions, and group activities. By making hand hygiene education fun and participatory, the event aims to instill the value of clean hands among children, thereby preventing the spread of infections like diarrhoea, respiratory diseases, influenza, and other communicable illnesses.
