About the Program

The Final Year Nursing Students Clinical Pre-Internship Programme is a comprehensive academic and professional development initiative organized by Smt. Nagarathnamma College of Nursing to prepare students for the seamless transition from student nurses to competent, clinical-ready intern nurses. Operating across the dedicated skill labs of all five nursing departments, this programme focuses on strengthening clinical reasoning, mastering procedural competencies, refining communication, and ensuring safety standards prior to starting clinical rotations.

Through expert lectures, hands-on skill stations, simulation-based training, OSCE practice, and case discussions, students gain direct practical readiness across all nursing specialties.

Objectives of the Program

• Procedural Mastery: Demonstrate hands-on competency in basic and advanced nursing skills using departmental skill lab simulators and equipment.
• Clinical Reasoning & Emergency Care: Apply critical thinking and clinical judgment in managing acute, complex, and specialty-specific patient care scenarios.
• Infection Control & Patient Safety: Integrate standard precautions, aseptic techniques, and patient safety protocols across all clinical procedures.
• Interdisciplinary Communication & Documentation: Execute accurate nursing documentation, handoff reporting, and professional therapeutic communication.
• Specialty Readiness: Transition smoothly into internship rotations by mastering skill sets specific to Adult Health, Child Health, OBG/Midwifery, Community Health, and Mental Health Nursing.
