About the Program

Pregnancy Awareness Week will be organized to promote safe motherhood and improve maternal and newborn health outcomes in the community. The program will focus on creating awareness about early registration of pregnancy, regular antenatal check-ups, balanced nutrition, iron and calcium supplementation, personal hygiene, rest and exercise, recognition of danger signs, birth preparedness, institutional delivery, and the importance of postnatal and newborn care. Through interactive sessions, demonstrations, role plays, and IEC activities, pregnant women and their family members will be empowered to adopt healthy practices and utilize available maternal health services. The program will also encourage family participation to strengthen emotional and social support for pregnant women, thereby contributing to better pregnancy outcomes.

Objectives of the Program

  • To create awareness on antenatal care and early registration of pregnancy
  • To promote nutrition, iron–folic acid intake, and rest during pregnancy
  • To educate on danger signs in pregnancy and timely referral
  • To encourage institutional delivery and postnatal follow-up

Expected Outcomes of the Program

  • Participants will demonstrate improved knowledge on antenatal care and early registration of pregnancy.
  • Pregnant women will adopt healthy dietary practices and adhere to iron–folic acid and calcium supplementation.
  • Families will recognize danger signs during pregnancy and seek timely medical care.
  • Utilization of regular ANC visits and institutional delivery services will be increased.
