About the Program

Objectives of the Program

  • To provide comprehensive knowledge about the anatomy and physiology of the cardiac conduction system.
  • To develop understanding of the principles and fundamentals of electrocardiography.
  • To enable learners to systematically interpret normal and abnormal ECG tracings.
  • To identify various cardiac arrhythmias and conduction abnormalities.
  • To enhance clinical decision-making skills in cardiac emergencies.

Expected Outcomes of the Program

  • Recognize ST-segment changes indicating myocardial ischemia or infarction.
  • Detect electrolyte imbalance patterns (e.g., hyperkalemia, hypokalemia).
  • Apply a systematic step-by-step approach to ECG interpretation.
  • Initiate appropriate nursing interventions based on ECG findings.
  • Communicate ECG abnormalities promptly to the healthcare team.
  • Demonstrate confidence in handling cardiac monitoring equipment.
