About the Program
The Webinar on International Day for Elderly 2025 aims to raise awareness about the well-being, rights, and contributions of the elderly in society. The program will feature expert discussions on healthy aging, elder care, social inclusion, and support systems that promote dignity and quality of life for senior citizens. It serves as a platform to encourage empathy, respect, and intergenerational bonding while highlighting the importance of creating an age-friendly and supportive community.
Objectives of the Program
By the end of this session, learners will be able to:
- To increase understanding of the rights, aspirations, and contributions of older persons in fostering local and global development.
- To encourage senior citizens to actively participate in decision-making processes affecting their health, social, and economic well-being.
- To showcase successful models of community engagement, health promotion, and social inclusion for older persons.
- To disseminate knowledge on physical, mental, and emotional wellness practices that enable active and independent living.
Expected Outcomes of the Program
- Greater public understanding of the needs, rights, and potential of older persons in shaping society.
- Development of actionable recommendations or initiatives (e.g., health camps, social support groups, age-friendly spaces) to improve elderly welfare.
- More active involvement of elderly individuals in community programs, decision-making committees, and advocacy activities.
- Measurable improvements in the physical, emotional, and social health of participating older persons through health check-ups, counseling, and wellness sessions.
- Creation of ongoing networks or forums that continue to address elderly concerns beyond the event.
