About the Program

The World Mental Health Day 2025 & Focus on Dementia Workshop aims to raise awareness about mental health and cognitive well-being, with special emphasis on understanding and managing dementia. The workshop includes expert talks, interactive discussions, and hands-on activities that promote early detection, care strategies, and community support for individuals affected by dementia. It encourages empathy, mental health awareness, and holistic approaches to emotional and cognitive wellness.

Meeting Objectives

  • Increase understanding about mental health issues among individuals, families, and communities.
  • Encourage positive mental health practices, emotional resilience, and self-care strategies.
  • Motivate individuals to seek professional help and support without fear or hesitation.
  • Promote inclusion and care for all individuals, especially those living with dementia, Alzheimer’s, depression, and other mental health conditions.
  • Strengthen collaboration between mental health professionals, caregivers, educators, and organizations.

Learning Outcomes

  • Participants become informed about signs, symptoms, and management strategies for common mental health problems. Individuals are more willing to seek professional help or counselling for themselves or loved ones.
  • Schools, workplaces, and communities become more proactive in supporting mental well-being and mental health initiatives.
  • Formation or strengthening of peer support groups, caregiver networks, and community partnerships for mental health care.
  • Greater acceptance and respect for individuals living with mental illness or cognitive disorders like Alzheimer’s.
  • Increased advocacy for inclusion of mental health in health policies and programs at institutional and community levels.
