About the Program
Objectives of the Program
- Define elder abuse and identify its various forms, including physical, emotional, financial, sexual abuse, and neglect.
- Recognize the risk factors, warning signs, and consequences of elder abuse among older adults.
- Explain the importance of prevention, reporting mechanisms, and legal protections available for elderly individuals.
- Describe the role of families, healthcare professionals, communities, and organizations in preventing elder abuse and promoting the well-being of older adults.
Expected Outcomes of the Program
- Identify and differentiate the different types of elder abuse and their indicators.
- Demonstrate increased awareness regarding the impact of elder abuse on the physical, psychological, and social health of older adults.
- Apply appropriate measures to report suspected cases of elder abuse and seek available support services.
- Advocate for a safe, respectful, and supportive environment that protects the rights and dignity of older adults within families and communities.
