About the Program
The Awareness Session on World Hepatitis Day 2025 aims to educate students, faculty, and the community about the causes, prevention, and treatment of Hepatitis. Observed annually on July 28th, World Hepatitis Day highlights the global burden of viral hepatitis and promotes efforts to combat the disease. This session will feature expert talks from healthcare professionals, awareness videos, and interactive discussions to empower participants with knowledge and encourage preventive healthcare practices. The initiative underscores the importance of early diagnosis, vaccination, and safe practices in eliminating hepatitis as a public health threat.
Objectives of the Program
- To enhance knowledge among nursing students and faculty regarding the types, causes, symptoms, and modes of transmission of Hepatitis A, B, C, D, and E.
- To create awareness about the importance of early diagnosis, timely treatment, and preventive strategies for Hepatitis, especially among healthcare professionals.
- To promote understanding of universal precautions, vaccination protocols (particularly for Hepatitis B), and infection control practices in clinical settings.
- To encourage active participation in global efforts to eliminate Hepatitis as a public health threat by 2030, aligning with WHO's theme for 2025.
- To foster community advocacy and student engagement in spreading awareness about Hepatitis prevention, safe practices, and stigma reduction.
Expected Outcome of the Program
- Participants will be able to identify the different types of Hepatitis (A, B, C, D, E) along with their etiology, clinical features, and modes of transmission.
- Learners will demonstrate an understanding of preventive measures, including the importance of Hepatitis B vaccination and standard infection control practices.
- Students will be able to explain the role of early screening, diagnosis, and treatment in reducing the complications and transmission of Hepatitis.
- Participants will exhibit awareness of the global burden of Hepatitis and recognize the importance of WHO’s strategies and goals for Hepatitis elimination by 2030.
- Learners will gain the ability to advocate for community-level awareness and educate others on safe health practices to prevent Hepatitis transmission.
