About the Program

World Hepatitis Day is observed every year on 28 July to raise awareness about viral hepatitis, a major global public health concern that affects millions of people worldwide. Viral hepatitis can lead to chronic liver disease, cirrhosis, and liver cancer if left undiagnosed and untreated. The day emphasizes the importance of prevention through vaccination, safe practices, early testing, and timely treatment. By increasing awareness and encouraging action, World Hepatitis Day aims to eliminate viral hepatitis as a public health threat.

Objectives of the Program

  • Increase public awareness about viral hepatitis and its impact on health.
  • Promote hepatitis B vaccination and preventive measures.
  • Encourage early screening and diagnosis of hepatitis B and C.
  • Educate the community on the modes of transmission and risk factors.
