Acharya Institute of Technology conducted the Zero Plastic Drive to promote environmental awareness and sustainable practices among students. The initiative encouraged responsible plastic management, waste reduction, and active participation in creating a cleaner campus while fostering a stronger sense of environmental responsibility and community engagement.
About the Program
Objectives of the Program
- To raise awareness about the harmful effects of plastic pollution on the environment and human health.
- To promote the concept of a zero-plastic lifestyle and encourage sustainable alternatives.
- To educate participants on proper waste segregation and responsible disposal practices.
- To reduce single-use plastic usage within the campus/community.
- To collaborate with Research Heights in promoting research-based sustainable solutions.
Expected Outcomes of the Program
- Increased awareness and understanding of plastic pollution among participants.
- Reduction in the use of single-use plastics in the targeted area.
- Adoption of sustainable practices such as use of cloth bags, metal bottles, and biodegradable materials.
- Cleaner campus/community environment due to plastic waste collection drives.
- Development of responsible environmental attitudes and long-term eco-conscious behaviour
