About Program

Menstruation is a natural and important part of reproductive health. Adequate knowledge and hygienic menstrual practices are essential for maintaining physical health, emotional well-being, dignity, and confidence among young women.

The Menstrual Hygiene Management Awareness Programme at Smt. Nagarathnamma College of Nursing is organized to provide nursing students with accurate, practical, and evidence-based information regarding menstruation and menstrual hygiene. The programme will encourage healthy menstrual practices, help students identify common menstrual concerns, and promote an open and supportive environment for discussing menstrual health.

As future healthcare professionals, nursing students at Smt. Nagarathnamma College of Nursing plays an important role in educating women and girls about menstrual hygiene and promoting positive menstrual health practices in the community.

Objectives of the Program

  • Understand menstruation as a normal physiological process.
  • Explain the importance of menstrual hygiene management.
  • Demonstrate appropriate menstrual hygiene practices.
  • Understand the safe use, changing, and disposal of menstrual products.
  • Recognize common menstrual problems and warning signs requiring medical attention.
  • Identify myths and misconceptions related to menstruation.
  • Promote dignity, confidence, and open communication regarding menstrual health.
  • Develop the skills needed to educate women and girls about menstrual hygiene.
