Objectives of the Program

  • Highlight the importance of carrier screening, premarital counseling, and prenatal diagnosis.
  • Emphasize the role of safe and regular blood transfusions in patient survival.
  • Address myths and promote empathy toward individuals living with thalassemia.
  • Encourage community participation in supporting patients and advocacy initiatives.
  • Provide knowledge on transfusion therapy, iron chelation, and emerging treatments like bone marrow transplant.

  • Understand it as a hereditary blood disorder affecting hemoglobin production.
