Step-by-Step Travel Guidance
Travelling to another country can be a daunting process. We, at Acharya, aim to make the process smooth and stress-free for our international students. Our step-by-step travel guidance is designed to provide
comprehensive support and assistance at every stage of the journey.
1. Pre Arrival
Visa Application: Upon receiving the admission letter, students should apply for a Student Visa through the Indian embassy in their home country.
Visa Confirmation: Once the student visa is granted, a scanned copy must be sent to international@acharya.ac.in
Pre-Arrival Guide: Students will receive a comprehensive guide with the class start date and document details at least one month before classes begin.
Vaccinations: Ensure that all required vaccinations, including Yellow Fever, Typhoid, and Hepatitis, are taken before arriving in India to prevent medical complications. Refer to the Indian
embassy in your country for specific vaccination requirements.
Early Reporting: Students are required to arrive at least 2 days before the commencement date of classes.
Airport Pickup: Inform the International Admission Office at least two weeks before your arrival to arrange for airport pickup. Provide complete flight details for a smooth transition.
Electrical Standards: Take note that the electrical standard in India operates on 240V with 2 or 3-pin sockets. Bring appropriate chargers, adapters, or converters for your electronic
devices to ensure compatibility.
2. Post Arrival
Visa Assistance: At Acharya, we have a dedicated team that helps students with any visa-related queries.
Guided Tour: Students are given a tour of the entire campus to familiarize them with the new location. They gain an idea of the facilities within the campus and outside.
Hostel Allotment and Onboarding: Students are assisted in choosing their hostel rooms, and they are introduced to hostel rules, amenities, and other services provided.
Induction Program: Our induction program, which connects the student body to faculty members and fellow students, helps international students settle in smoothly by fostering a sense of
belonging.
3. Support for International Students
We provide on-campus healthcare services and opportunities to learn English, which serves as the primary medium of instruction for all classes. Additionally, our support extends to assisting with
FRRO registration. At Acharya, we actively foster inclusivity, diversity, and a celebration of various cultures and heritages, ensuring a rich and unforgettable learning experience.
Happenings
Acharya campus had the honour of hosting the Rwanda Ambassador, who visited to explore educational collaborations and infrastructure. The Ambassador engaged in discussions with institutional heads, addressed students on “Rwanda’s Past, Rebirth, and Relation with India,” and emphasized opportunities in career development, exchange programs, and tourism. The visit also saw the presence of Ms. Esther Karema Mutua, Education Attaché, Kenya High Commission, and Mr. Baker Balunywa, Education Attaché, strengthening regional academic ties.
Acharya's International Students Day brought together students from across Bangalore, representing various countries and cultures. The event was a vibrant showcase of diversity, featuring
captivating performances that celebrated unity and global harmony.
Acharya Institutes hosted an exciting cultural exchange event that allowed international students to immerse themselves in the rich traditions of Karnataka. The event showcased the state's
dynamic art forms, delicious cuisine, colorful festivals, and diverse languages. Students had the opportunity to share their own cultures while forging meaningful cross-cultural connections,

Acharya Institute of Technology recently hosted a transformative Global Immersion Program for Acharya University students from Uzbekistan. Spanning 19 days, the program combined cultural
exploration, technical training, and networking opportunities. Participants gained deep cultural insights, earned Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals certification, and developed key personal and
professional skills, all while forging valuable international connections.
We are delighted to host 10 students and a faculty member from UBL, Indonesia, at Acharya University as part of a dynamic 15-day student exchange program. This program offers an enriching
blend of academic learning, cultural immersion, and collaborative research opportunities, fostering a global perspective and strengthening international ties.
Smt. Nagarathnamma College of Nursing welcomes Ms. Evelina and Ms. Felicia from Umea University, Sweden, for a 6-week international student exchange program, fostering cultural exchange and
professional growth in the Indian healthcare system.
Mr. Casper Ekman and Mr. Adam Nilson from Umea University, Sweden, recently completed a 6-week inward exchange program at Smt. Nagarathnamma College of Nursing. The program included advanced
training in the Bachelor-level Nursing curriculum and hands-on practice in elderly care at nursing homes and home care settings.
International Office, CPRD at Acharya celebrated DRC Independence Day with fervor, featuring cultural performances, patriotic songs, and speeches. Students, faculty, and staff united to honor
national pride and the contributions of freedom fighters.
The orientation program for international students focused on cultural adaptability and interpersonal skills. Through interactive discussions, students learned to navigate cultural differences
and build meaningful relationships, fostering openness and collaboration for lasting connections.
A delegation from the University of New Hampshire (UNH), USA, visited Acharya to explore partnerships and collaboration with colleges like AIT, Nursing, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, and AIAHS. The
visit included engaging discussions and knowledge exchanges, with both institutions optimistic about future collaborations to enhance student opportunities. The event concluded on a positive
note, reflecting a shared commitment to mutual growth.
Acharya had the honor of hosting HE Mr. Sardor Mirzayusupovich Rustambaev, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to India, and HE Mr. Salaev San’at
Kamilovich, the Deputy Governor of the Khorezm region, along with other distinguished delegates from Uzbekistan. During this visit, four MoUs were signed with leading universities from
Uzbekistan, marking a significant step in our extensive collaboration efforts.

We were honored to host distinguished delegates from Ghana on March 21st, 2024. Among them were Mr. Conrad Nana Kojo Asiedu, First Secretary for Trade, Culture & Tourism, High Commission
Ghana, and Chief Nana Kumasah Krampah II, Divisional Omankrado of Gomoa Asempayin. The visit, facilitated by our International Relations Office, focused on exploring collaboration

To ensure the safe and secure environment to study and stay, the management has constantly been monitoring the safety and security measures by entrusting round the clock security. In addition to
this, wardens are made available 24x7 and entrusted to maintain regular attendance to monitor the students’ presence
College takes adequate measures to keep the campus ragging free, smoking free and alcohol free.
Yes, college provides all the support for registration with the FRRO. Students have to report to the college on arrival and submit the rental agreement within 5 days of arrival if staying outside
the hostel. Very importantly, FRRO registration has to be completed within 14 days of arrival
As the medium of instruction is English, all international students should be proficient in English. IELTS or TOEFL are not mandatory. For the students who have not studied in school/university
where the medium of instruction was English, they have to clear our proficiency level assessment. In the case of student not meeting the entry requirement, s/he will be asked to join our English
language program
You will receive an email one month prior to class commencement with date. So you will have to report two days before class commencement date
Students who wish to avail the hostel have to clear the hostel fee before arrival to avoid inconvenience of non-availability of hostel. For international students who do not wish to stay in
hostel, on arrival we give complimentary two nights stay in hostel, they have to find alternative accommodation and shift prior to the third day of arrival
